About Timboon

Timboon is located to the west of the Otways, and is a 20 minute drive north of Port Campbell and the scenic Great Ocean Road. Dairy farming, timber and agriculture form the main industry in the area. Many specialty products such as deer, emu, ostrich and strawberries, are also produced. Visitors shouldn’t miss out on sampling some of the local delights at Timboon Farmhouse Cheese, renowned for its specialist cheeses. Berry World allows you to pick your own strawberries, blackberries and loganberries when they are in season, and don’t leave town before sampling some of the delicious Timboon ice cream.

To work it all off, the Timboon golf course is surrounded by native gum trees, has lush well-kept fairways with excellent greens, and the chance of seeing resident kangaroos, wallabies and koalas. The Curdies River, which runs through town, is quite unique in that it connects two of south western Victoria's most popular fishing resorts - Lake Purrumbete - famous for its chinook salmon and rainbow trout, and Peterborough on the Great Ocean Road. The Curdies River offers good fishing for trout, bream, eels and black fish.
