Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training
Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training is offered throughout the year, where students are exposed to Aboriginal health and cultural issues of the Greater Green Triangle region. The training is coordinated by GGT UDRH staff in collaboration with local Aboriginal communities. We hope that exposure to CAT will help students see that what they do as individuals can make a difference to the health and well being of Aboriginal people.
Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Training is available to students on clinical placement in the Greater Green Triangle region for free. Health professionals working within the Greater Green Triangle region are also welcome to attend, although a small fee applies (contact Student Support for details). During the training students are encouraged to spend time sharing the uniqueness of Aboriginal culture with a focus on health and well being. The sessions are held mainly outdoors and bring together ‘learning and laughter’.
