Diabetes Prevention

Centre of Clinical Research Excellence (CCRE): Clinical Science in Diabetes: NHMRC-funded Centre for Clinical Research Excellence at the University of Melbourne. Professor James Dunbar is a member of the CCRE-Diabetes team.

A Controlled Evaluation of the Australasian Peers for Progress Diabetes Program (PfP-DP) and its Transferability to Other Countries: Peers for Progress-funded evaluation of the transferability of a Peers for Progess diabetes program to the Australasian context. This grant is held by Monash University. Professor James Dunbar and Professor Prasuna Reddy are Investigators on this grant.

Life! Taking Action on Diabetes: Department of Human Services' Victoria-funded lifestyle behaviour change program for Victorians at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Melbourne Diabetes Prevention Study (Life! Diabetes Prevention Program: A Randomised Cluster Control Trial of its Efficacy, Effectiveness and Cost Effectiveness): NHMRC-funded study evaluating the Life! Taking Action on Diabetes program.

PEACH: Patient Engagement and Coaching for Health: An Intensive Treatment Intervention for Patients with Type 2 Diabetes in Disadvantaged Communities: NHMRC-funded program using practice nurses to assist patients with type 2 diabetes to self-manage. This grant is held by the University of Melbourne. Professor James Dunbar is an Associate Investigator.

Prevention of type 2 diabetes in women with gestational diabetes in urban India - a feasibility study: International Diabetes Federation funded research to reliably evaluate the effectiveness of a lifestyle intervention for the prevention of type 2 diabetes in women with gestational diabetes in India.

 

Mental Health

TrueBlue  (Chronic Disease Management of Co-morbid Depression, Heart Disease and Diabetes (National Project, Stage 2): beyondblue-funded evaluation of systematic care for patients with co-morbid depression and coronary heart disease and/or type 2 diabetes. 

 

Pharmacy

Pharmacy Academic UDRH (PAUDRH) program: Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing-funded program focussing on pharmacy-based practice research and on the education and training needs of pharmacists and pharmacy students based in rural and remote areas.

 

Primary Health Care

Primary Health Care Research Evaluation and Development (PHCRED) program: Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing-funded program aimed at building research capacity amongst primary health care workers.

 

Workforce

Statewide Allied Health Workforce Education Program: Department of Human Services' Victoria-funded program focussing on the educational needs of allied health professionals in Victoria, and aimed at improving the recruitment and retention of health professionals in regional and rural areas.
